Interested in learning more about Arizona history and culture as our Centennial approaches? Join the Desert Foothills Chapter of the Arizona Archaeological Society for a dessert potluck and discussion titled, ‘Desert Foothills Ceramics: Probing the Verde Confederacy on Perry Mesa’, moderated by two local Archeologists. The event will be hosted at the Community Building of the Good Shepherd of the Hills church, located at: 6502 E. Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek, on Wednesday, May 11, at 7 pm.
The forum will feature Dr. David Abbot, an associate professor of archeology at ASU, and J. Scott Wood, a Tonto National Forest archaeologist and Heritage Manager. The two will discuss research about the prehistoric peoples of the Verde Valley, Perry Mesa and the Cave Creek area.
